Upper 2nd premolar roots

The maxillary second premolar is one of two teeth located in the upper jaw, laterally (away from the midline of the face) from both the maxillary first premolars of the mouth but mesial (toward the midline of the face) from both maxillary first molars. How many canals do first and second upper premolars have? The wisdom tooth is fully erupted and is where the second molar should have been.

Similar to the first premolar in coronal morphology, the second premolar varies mainly in root form. Its crown is narrower in the buccal-palatal dimension and slightly wider in the mesial-distal. The canal orifice is centrally located but often appears more as a slot than as a single ovoid opening.

The aim of this study was to investigate the number of roots and root canals in the maxillary second premolar in a group of Jordanian population. The root canal morphology of Maxillary second premolars can be complex and requires careful evaluation prior to endodontic therapy. Keywords: Apical delta, decalcification and staining, maxillary second premolar , root canal morphology, Vertucci’s classification There are no published reports on.

Examples of upper premolars with three roots. In one study, it was found that of maxillary second premolars had accessory canals. As with the first maxillary premolar , the apical third. A branch of biology that deals with the form and structure of animals and plants.

The form and structure of an organism or any of its parts.

Whereas, lower premolars have only one root. Root is the part of teeth in which root canals are present. Root canal treatment is also performed in this region.

The lower premolars and the upper second premolar usually have one root. The upper first usually has two roots , but can have just one root, notably in Sinodonts, and can sometimes have three roots. It also has long central groove and no supplement groves on its occlusal surface. Also of the upper premolars have roots. However, the upper second premolar has no MMDG and many supplemental.

Vertucci and Gegauff found of 4maxillary first premolars to have three canals: 0. Its crown has a well-developed buccal cusp and a much better-formed lingual cusp than in the first premolar. Access is made slightly ovoi wider in the mesial-distal dimension. Certain types of teeth (lower incisors, upper premolars , molars) and even specific tooth roots (mesiobuccal roots of upper first molars, distal roots of lower 1st molars) are well known for having the potential to have additional canals. The lower right second premolar and lower left third molar were extracted. Upper second premolars generally have a single root and one or two canals.

Upper premolar teeth with three canals, with two or three roots in maxillary second premolars is quite rare. How is the position of the base of the pulp chamber in the upper second different to the upper first premolar ? Placed further apically than upper first before narrowing to single root canal How is the pulp cavity shaped in the upper second premolars ? The palatal diverges strongly from the two buccal roots.

They are taken buccally with a long, steady movement while the upward pressure is maintained. Palatal movement is contraindicated as it may cause the palatal root to fracture. There is always one large buccal cusp, especially so in the mandibular first premolar.

The lower second premolar almost always presents with two lingual cusps. A quick reminder timetable of age of tooth eruption and apex formation (closure).
