What not to do after a root canal

If a tooth fractures below the gums, there’s no way to save it and it must be extracted.

Most teeth require a protective crown after a root canal. Patients risk a fractured tooth by waiting too long to return to. A root canal involves deep cleaning inside the canals (the inner chamber of the root) of your tooth , which can in turn irritate surrounding nerves and gums. The pain shouldn’t last forever.
