Apicoectomy pain after 6 months

It was on a tooth that had root canal about years prior. Had one of the top endodontists in chicago perform the apicoectomy. Was a very small infection.


Surgery went well, had follow up, healed fine, xray looked normal. Tooth has been bothering me, similar to pain before apicoectomy.

After you procedure, it is very important to follow post-operative instructions to prevent any serious complications. Proper care of the surgical area is important to insure proper healing. Pain Before the anesthesia has worn off, you can try over the counter medications for the relief of pain.


Aspirin, Tylenol or ibuprofen. Apicoectomy recovery is usually quick and without complications. Some soreness, swelling and pain are absolutely normal after the apicoectomy surgery.

The Peridex tore my mouth up after about days so he had me stop that and also the antibiotic was intense! Said to use warm salt water and my regular mouthwash now. I don’t go back until the 25th of this month and then not for another months to see if the bone is filling back in via 3D x-ray.


You will need to schedule an appointment with this office to have the tooth re-evaluated in six months time. You will receive a letter in the mail urging you to make this appointment. There is no charge for this follow-up visit. During this visit a new x-ray will be taken to document the healed tooth.


If your surgeon used a grafting material to fill the hole and facilitate bone growth, the little pimple could be due to the grafting material trying to make its way out through the gum. For months after my apicoectomy , I saw little white particles coming through my gum when I had the pimples. I have a question regarding a swelling an my jaw two months after an apicoectomy and cystectomy was performed on my lower molar (number ). The tooth itself does not hurt, but there the jaw is swollen.

In december the canine needed a deep filling and then a root canal. After several months of problems ( pain and facial swelling on the left side), I ended up having an apicoectomy on that tooth. from specialists on apicoectomy complications. First: Pain , bleeding, swelling, black and blue (jhematoma), numbness, sinus perforation, adjacent tooth fracture are some. I had an apicoectomy on my front tooth yesterday morning. I had root canals in the tooth in the past months and was still having pain and discomfort.


The endodendist gave me local anesthestics. I was very anxious about the procedure. The procedure in total took a little less than an hour.


I Had a Apicetomy About Months Ago and my Gums Are Still Swollen and Still Sore , is This Normal? Continued pain from apicoectomy. At weeks, your symptoms sound normal.


I would wait at least 2-months before starting to worry about anything. Healing takes time so be patient.
