Purple gums after root canal

A root canal involves deep cleaning inside the canals (the inner chamber of the root ) of your tooth , which can in turn. After root canal , it is common to get a small raised spot that may appear even during the preparation stages of the process. This abscess is likely to have a pus discharge or some fluid. According to East Coast Endodontics, the pimple-like spots on gums after root canal are a sign of healing, and should clear on its own.

Gum infection after root canal treatment can result in pimple like spots in the gums (at the tip of the tooth root or bone). This small spots are called as fistula.

Fistula formation is a sign of gum infection after root canal and you may need an apicoectomy to relieve the infection. The purplish tint to your gums is a signal that either your oral hygiene needs to be more efficient or else the crown may be placed too far under the gums. If the crown is too close to the connective tissue then it can cause this swelling. It is not uncommon for teeth to turn darker in color either before or after being treated with a root canal. The lump could also occur above tooth or below tooth.

Deposition of pigment within the tooth from the nerve, usually due to major trauma, can cause the tooth to turn either gray or brown. What happens is a reactive process causing calcification within the tooth can cause it to turn yellow. However, if you have previously had a root canal on a tooth and the tooth after a number of years has discolore if there is adequate tooth structure remaining, you may be a candidate for internal bleaching.

Usually this happens a few weeks after an accident. It will usually turn a gray or purple hue. Lastly, you may experience tiny bumps on your gums , a couple of days after root canal therapy. Do not worry – this is normal. These bumps occur when pressure around your gum tissue releases, preventing bacteria from lingering around your treated tooth.

The bumps should recede within a week. I mostly feel this tenderness between tooth (the root canal tooth ) and with it mostly coming from the end of where it meets at the gum (if that makes sense). The purple of color is because the type of porcelain crown you got is not blocking the dark color of your tooth due to root canal treatment, and the sore or discomfort you are experiencing needs to be checked by an expert dentist, specially to check the fit of your new crown, and the gum pocket.

I had a root canal on my eye tooth about years ago. I have been icing and rinsing with saltwater, etc. But I am most worried about the swelling.

After the anesthetic wore off I started to experience mild pain in the tooth. I took antibiotics and painkillers. I was able to deal with the pain. On the third day after the root canal treatment, I noticed a feeling of tightness in my cheek and it felt like a hard ball was on top of my gum above the root canal treated tooth. I sai no way, I am not going to go through that torture again and requested that it get extracted.

The tooth was extracted yesterday.

I needed four shots to numb the area surrounding the bottom rear last molar root - canal tooth before proceeding to extract it. This photo shows a tooth that has had root canal treatment but the patient did not go through with any follow up care. Close up photo shows what is left of a tooth after much of the decay and loose root canal filling material removed. You should return to the dentist that did your root canal to examine your tooth.

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is. Although dreade anesthesia ensures patients can undergo a root canal without pain.
