Bottom denture implants

How many implants are required to hold a bottom whole denture in? Can I switch from dentures to implants? Which is better dentures or implants? What makes dental implants better than dentures?


In this post I am specifically talking about overdentures, not fixed implant bridges.

Most commonly, a lower denture is supported with two to four implants underneath it. The more implants you have the more stable the denture is. As discussed earlier, a denture made out of porcelain will require a larger number of implants to support it. So whether you’re getting upper or lower denture implants or a full denture implant , the cost will multiply from that range. Another option that you have if you want immediate is to place a minimum of four mini dental implants and retrofit your existing denture with attachments that will hold the denture in.


Two dental implants , strategically place instead of the four or more needed to support a fixed bridge are sufficient to support a “traditional” lower denture.
