Root canal tooth still sensitive to pressure

How long does your tooth stay sensitive after a root canal? Does a sensitive tooth always need a root canal? Should my tooth be sensitive after a filling?


If the tooth was not infected around the tip of the root , that’s when overfilling is likely to cause pain after a root canal. It’s rare, but a tiny bubble of air can also be forced out of the root tip , causing pressure and pain.

It may take some time, but the pain in either case should subside on its own. If your tooth pain is caused by a left over nerve, your tooth will be sensitive to hot and cold. After the initial pain (a few days) subside I noticed that it was sensitive to touch - no sensitivity to colds or sweets.
