Pain 2 weeks after apicoectomy

After two weeks , the swelling and pain will completely go away. Apicoectomy complications and risks. There is a possibility that the surgery may not work and that the affected tooth will be extracted.


After you procedure, it is very important to follow post-operative instructions to prevent any serious complications. Proper care of the surgical area is important to insure proper healing.

Pain Before the anesthesia has worn off, you can try over the counter medications for the relief of pain. Aspirin, Tylenol or ibuprofen. One year follow up x-ray shows perfect healing since then.


A root canal was performed. Try switching to an interdental brush, which places less pressure on swollen gums. Be careful not to disturb any scabs or blood clots, as they are a necessary part of the healing process and can bleed heavily if disturbed.


He has taken x-rays, but everything looks fine.

Pain and discomfort two weeks after root canal. At weeks , your symptoms sound normal. I would wait at least -months before starting to worry about anything. It hurt for about a day or so, then felt great. I could even chew on it.

Some minor bleeding is expected after apicoectomy. It will usually subside quickly, and stop within an hour or two after surgery.


The apicoectomy didn’t hurt…the worst part was the anesthesia injections into the upper palette. I’ve used Motrin and ice packs. This should takeminutes. After having opened the mucosa and having posed important structures, the bone above the apex is removed.
