Stomach pain after root canal

Usually after a root canal is preformed we prescribe something just a we bit stronger to go along with the Ibuprofen, and also an antibiotic. Then again it may just be that this tooth had a worse abscess (more swelling and pus) and needs an antibiotic. If the tooth was not infected around the tip of the root , that’s when overfilling is likely to cause pain after a root canal.


It’s rare, but a tiny bubble of air can also be forced out of the root tip , causing pressure and pain. Any pain beyond this point may warrant additional cleaning of the canals or other procedures from your dentist.

Use of calcium hydroxide for root canal treatment can’t lead to stomach infections. Cause of stomach upset can be because of antibiotics which were given during or after root canal treatment. If medicaments are cause of stomach infection , then you can talk to your dentist and tell him to change your medicines. If you are feeling pain only to biting (not to hot or cold) most likely the nerve is completely removed and that is not the issue. Root canal is incomplete on 14. I just hate how my dentist and my endo dismissed the thought that it could be muscle pain and not a toothache that was causing my pain. Maybe the tooth beneath the crown got a cavity in it and the dentist filled it.
