Root canal and crown pain years later

Re: Second root canal years later ? I had a 2nd abcess happen on the same molar about years after I had a root canal done on it and crown put on. The x-ray showed in my case that one of the roots had cracked vertically which allowed bacteria to get to the base of the root and cause the 2nd abcess. As an experienced dentist myself, and having treated near about 2patients requiring root canal therapy, I would like to answer your question.
