Unnecessary root canal

What is a root canal and when is it necessary? Why is a root canal even necessary? What are the signs that a root canal is needed? Can you prevent the need for a root canal?

Root canals have been, and continue to be, a conventional, or standard of care, procedure done by a dentist or an endodontist.

In the case of a root canal procedure , it can lead to a number of chronic health problems and even degenerative diseases. Unfortunately, it is very rare for someone in need of dental care to be aware of this. Secon it covers their butt just in case the problem gets worse.

Just because you’re not in pain doesn’t necessarily mean that your oral health is in perfect condition. There are different reasons for why your infected root may not be causing you discomfort. For example, teeth that are dead may require a root canal in order to keep the tooth from becoming infected.

In another instance, if a cavity has already spread to the dentin and pulp but has not reached the root yet, it is only a matter. And most importantly, you want to know if you can avoid a root canal , I will give you some pointers on whether you really need this procedure.

Root Canals and How to Avoid Them. While not specifically about root canals , one option that some people choose, if they have an existing root canal , is to have the dead tooth remove so we include this article in the series. And so we continue the discussion of what is definitely one of the most heated debates in dentistry today.

Unnecessary root canal treatment can be avoided by thorough diagnosis and if appropriate, referral to an Ear Nose and Throat physician. Clenching pain can be treated with a properly fitted professionally made night guard or bruxing appliance. In some cases, a tooth infection will respond well to antibiotic therapy, making a root canal unnecessary. In other cases, the antibiotic will only be postponing the inevitable, and the root canal therapy may be needed after all. Common antibiotics prescribed for root canal infections include Penicillin VK, amoxicillin, and Keflex.

Literally millions of root canals have been done when in reality there was no need for this procedure. This is because the dental profession frequently misconstrues gum tissue abscesses as being nerve abscesses. Gum tissue infection can be healed and the problem might be resolved without having a root canal.

Root canals are not only very painful and costly, they don’t do anything to “save” a healthy tooth. By the time a root canal is necessary, your tooth is dead. Leaving a dead tooth in your mouth will cause your immune system to react and attack, resulting in chronic inflammation and an infection that cannot be successfully treated by antibiotics. To minimize unnecessary invasive treatments, pulp vitality tests and a careful review of the radiographs may be helpful.

Failing to properly clean out the inside of the tooth is also dental malpractice. Sometimes part of the root , which is removed in a root canal , is left inside of the tooth.

This causes the root to rot and become infecte which causes horrific pain,. You have a tooth with no infection and he wants to do this why, because it is 8dollars that is why. After placing the crown, it seems that it is tilted and causing me to bite my cheek all the time. I would tell this guy to kiss my rear end.

Also, I’ve been told by another dentist that the crown has been placed improperly and has over contour. Almost nine out of patients never required root canal treatment but most were unnecessarily lured into the invasive treatment, an Abu Dhabi doctor has said. In closing, please be aware that a root canal my be indicated for a tooth or indicated due to an expected course of degradation of the dental nerve even if you have no pain.

So listen to your Dentist and if you are still unsure of why you need a root canal when you are not experiencing pain, just ask more questions.
